How do I join a Zoom Meeting?

The easiest way to join a Zoom meeting is to click the link in the email invitation from the host. Another way is to open the Zoom app, click the "Join" button, and enter the meeting ID or link. You can join a meeting either from the desktop app or mobile app. You can also join from a web browser; however,  features are limited in the browser.

I hear audio but see nothing (or I see video and hear nothing). How do I fix that?

If you cannot see your video, make sure your camera is turned on by clicking the "Start Video" button and selecting the correct camera using the arrow next to the button. If you cannot hear other participants, click the arrow next to the "Mute/Unmute" button and select the correct speakers. You can also test your speakers and microphone from the same arrow button. How can I help my student hear me better?

One of the best and easiest ways to provide your students with a better audio experience is to use earbuds during your meetings. This prevents your voice from sounding tinny and boomy. We recommend wireless earbuds, if you will be standing up and walking away from your screen. Be sure to speak slowly and enunciate as well. Learn more about recommended audio gear here.

Can I share my screen? If so, how do I do that?

Yes, you can click on the "Share Screen" button on the bottom toolbar of the meeting and select which open program (e.g. browser, PowerPoint presentation, video, etc.) you want to share. Students can share their screens as well, and you have the option of preventing them from sharing if that is necessary. How can I record my Zoom Meeting?

As a meeting host, when scheduling a new meeting, you have the ability to have your meeting automatically begin to record upon starting. Learn more here. You can also manually record your meetings using the Record button on the bottom toolbar during a meeting. Instructors can allow students to record as well by granting permission to an individual.
